Uses : The aloe vera gel is obtained from leaves of aloe vera contains 99.5% water and remaining part of gel is composed of carbohydrates, mucopolysaccharides, proteins, enzymes, anthraquinones, chromones, minerals, vitamins, phenolic compounds, and salicylic acid. Aloe vera has immunomodulating, moisturizing, wound healing, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antibacterial, and antifungal effects. Owing to the salicylic acid component of the gel, it also has a keratolytic effect. Drinking aloe vera juice is the ultimate healthy habit as it aids in weight loss, digestion, immune function, and even easing general discomfort.

General Description: It is a perennial plant with turgid green leaves joined at the stem in a rosette pattern. It has triangular, fleshy leaves with serrated edges, yellow tubular flowers and fruits that contain numerous seeds. Each leaf is composed of three layers: 1) An inner clear gel that contains 99% water and rest is made of glucomannans, amino acids, lipids, sterols and vitamins. 2) The middle layer of latex which is the bitter yellow sap and contains anthraquinones and glycosides. 3) The outer thick layer of 15–20 cells called as rind which has protective function and synthesizes carbohydrates and proteins.
