Common Name : Australian Chestnut
Hindi Name : ब्लैक बीन्स | Scientific Name : Castanospermum australe
Family : Fabaceae
Uses : The extensive root systems formed by Castanospermum and its preference for moist soils, makes it a useful tree for stabilising the banks of watercourses. It also fixes atmospheric nitrogen using soil bacteria contained within nodules on the tree's roots.
