Dr. Naveen Chandra Joshi, is currently In-Charge of the Manaskhand Science Centre in Almora since January 2024, He is PhD in Zoology and has extensive research experience from prominent national and international institutions. His research interests include Pollination Ecology, Climate Change Impact and Vulnerability Assessment, Traditional Ecological Knowledge, Management of Human-Wildlife Conflicts Through Community Participation and Use of Modern Tools and Techniques, and Wildlife Monitoring. With over 15 years of experience, he has significantly advanced scientific understanding and practical solutions in these fields.
Previously, Dr. Joshi served as a Senior Project Scientist at the Wildlife Institute of India from 2015 to 2024 and held teaching positions, including five years (2010-2015) as an Assistant Professor at AITS Haldwani and Govt. PG College, Joshimath. He has also contributed to distance e-learning through the Uttarakhand Science Education & Research Centre (USERC).
Dr. Joshi's work has earned him numerous awards, including the Young Scientist Gold Medal and Best Oral Presentation Awards. He has presented at over 30 international and national conferences and published over 55 research publications, including research papers, popular articles, technical reports, and book chapters. His research is featured in the master's curriculum at Uttarakhand Open University. Additionally, he contributes as an editor and reviewer for five reputed international scientific journals. He has guided 1 PhD thesis and 2 Master's thesis.
